Lesson Dates

The 2026–2027 school year starts on Monday, September 7th, 2026, and runs until Monday, July 5, 2027.
It consists of 36 lesson weeks and two concerts.

Because not all schools follow the same holiday schedule, the lesson dates are listed in the calendar on the student portal.

No lessons will be given on the following dates:

• Autumn break: Monday, October 19 through Sunday, October 25, 2026
• Christmas break: Monday, December 21, 2026 through Sunday, January 3, 2027
• Spring break: Monday, February 22 through Sunday, February 28, 2027
• Easter Monday: Monday, March 29, 2027
• May holiday: Monday, April 26 through Sunday, May 9, 2027
• Whit Monday: Monday, May 17, 2027

Due to public holidays and school breaks falling on Mondays, there are exactly 36 lesson weeks on Mondays.
For Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday this is not the case; these days have 37 lesson weeks during this period. Therefore, one lesson week will be cancelled. This will be announced in time, at least one week in advance.

Administration

All administration, information, and scheduling are handled through the student portal (www.mymusicstaff.com). Login is available via https://www.pianolessen-utrecht.nl/login/. Here you can find all available lesson times, invoices, additional costs, holidays, make-up credits, and more.

Cancellation Policy

Lessons must be cancelled at least four days in advance. In that case, the lesson can be rescheduled within the teacher’s working hours, provided that a time slot is available. Timely cancellations receive a make-up credit. Lessons cancelled less than four days in advance cannot be rescheduled. In case of illness or force majeure, please contact us as soon as possible via SMS, WhatsApp, or email. In some cases, the lesson may still be rescheduled.

Please note: make-up lessons cannot take place during holidays, public holidays, or weekends, unless exceptionally offered by the teacher.

In case of illness or absence of the teacher, a substitute teacher will be arranged or a make-up lesson will be scheduled. Refunds are not possible.

Tuition Fees

The tuition fees for the 2026–2027 school year are:

• €1044 per year excluding VAT for a 30-minute lesson
• €1566 per year excluding VAT for a 45-minute lesson
• €2088 per year excluding VAT for a 60-minute lesson
• €810 per year excluding VAT for a biweekly 45-minute lesson

The concert fee will be charged in June (see Concerts).

Payment

Payment is made in 10 monthly installments, automatically debited on the 1st of each month.

It is also possible to pay per half year or per year:

• September 1, 2026 (50% or 100%)
• February 1, 2027 (remaining 50%)

Failure to meet payment obligations may result in exclusion from lessons.

Teachers and Make-Up Credits

Lessons are taught by the following teachers:

• Monday & Tuesday: Geert
• Wednesday & Friday: Joshua
• Thursday: Bojonne
• Saturday: Athanasia

With make-up credits, students may take lessons on other days, possibly with another teacher, provided there is availability. This is always arranged in consultation to ensure proper coordination and administration.

Termination

A notice period of four weeks applies when cancelling lessons. The corresponding tuition fees remain payable during this period. Both the student and the teacher have the right to terminate lessons, for example in cases of insufficient commitment. After a warning and evaluation period (2–4 lessons), lessons may be discontinued. Any overpaid tuition fees will then be refunded.

New students have a trial period of four lessons. An evaluation will follow after this period.
If it is decided to stop lessons during the trial period, no notice period applies.

Concerts

Concerts are part of the lesson program. There is one concert per school year.

The date will be announced no later than November/December 2026.

If absence is communicated more than 6 weeks in advance, the concert fee will not be charged.
For later cancellations, no refund is possible. Students are scheduled 6 weeks in advance (morning/afternoon), and this schedule is final.

Exceptions may be made in consultation.

The concert fee is €11 per concert per student and covers venue rental and material costs.

Additional Costs

• Sheet music with studio license is included. Other books/materials are at the student’s own expense.
• Extra lessons outside regular lesson weeks, such as during holidays, will be invoiced separately.

Lesson Replacement in Exceptional Circumstances

If necessary, Piano Lessons Utrecht may arrange a qualified substitute teacher.
If no replacement is possible, missed lessons will be compensated or credited in consultation.

Final Provision

This lesson agreement may be amended at any time by Piano Lessons Utrecht.
Any changes will always be communicated directly. All mentioned dates and prices are subject to change; no rights can be derived from them.
